New Delhi: A mother, her five children, her lover, black magic and gruesome murders – this is a tale of a crime that has shocked people in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut while police conduct their probe to unearth the truth. On Saturday, reports came in of a woman in Meerut who had killed her minor son and daughter along with the help of her lover, Saud and dumped the bodies in a canal. Her neighbours also aided her in the crime and the police arrested all six of them.
The mother has been identified as Nisha Baig of Meerut’s Khairnagar who killed her children Merab and Konen. Police believe Nisha murdered her two minor kids because she wanted powers using black magic and ‘Tantra-Mantra’, reported Amar Ujala. It mentioned that three other children of Nisha had also died and police suspect that the same reason could be behind their deaths too.
Amid speculations, the SP city has launched an investigation into the case
Nisha’s Three Children & Their Deaths
While police are trying to get more details from Nisha on remand, the probe is on to unearth murky details of the murder of the kids. Amar Ujala reported citing Dehligate police inspector Rishipal Singh that Nisha got married to Shahid Baig, a resident of Khairnagar in 2002. Before Merab and Konen, Nisha-Shahid had three children, who had also died. Police have taken information from Shahid about how and when these three children died.
It was found during the inquiry that Nisha gave birth to a son in 2003, a daughter in 2004 and a daughter in 2010. All three children had died under suspicious circumstances. The relatives did not complain to the police believing it to be a natural death. Nisha gave birth to Merab in 2012 and Konen in 2016. After Merab-Konnen's murder, the police have now also opened an investigation into the deaths of three children in the past.
Nisha’s Obsession With Witchcraft & Powers
Police learned during the probe that Nisha was already blind in ‘tantra-mantra and black magic’ before marriage and used to talk about getting immense power. The police suspect, as per Amar Ujala, that the death of three children in the past may not be natural, but could be a case of murder. SP City Piyush Singh told the newspaper how the three children had died in the past and that it will also be investigated.
Nisha Called Saud 960, Saad 400 Times
Police are also probing how Nisha gathered the help of so many people to complete her plan. After the murder of Merab and Konen came to light, the Dehligate police interrogated the main accused former councilor Saud Faizi and the children's mother Nisha Baig on Friday night.
At the same time, the police are also taking information about the case from her husband Shahid Baig and other family members. Musarrat and Kosar, who helped Nisha and went to jail with her, also told the police that they got involved in Merab-Konen's murder because of the fear of witchcraft.
According to the police, Amar Ujala mentioned in the report, the CDR of Nisha's mobile showed that in three months, she talked to Saud 960 times and Saad 400 times. Long conversations have also been received with many people including Arif. Police have also extracted the CDR of the mobiles of many people including Saud, Arif and Saad. The police are also searching the records of the people close to the accused Saud.
All Accused Sent To Judicial Custody
PAC divers and police continued their operation in Gangnahar on Saturday in search of six-year-old Konen, but her body was not found. After the post-mortem, Merab's body was handed over in the presence of the police. Nisha, her lover and former councilor Saud Faizi, neighbours Musarrat, Kosar, Saad and Arif were produced in ACJ Junior Division Court-5. Magistrate Tarun Kumar sent them to judicial custody for 14 days.
