New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Police stated on Sunday that a six-year-old girl was reportedly raped by two boys in a village located under the Dubahar Police Station area of Ballia district, news agency PTI reported.


Additional Superintendent of Police Durga Prasad Tiwari said, "The incident according to family members occurred on March 7. An FIR regarding the incident has been lodged on the complaint given by the father of the girl. Both the accused in the case are minors."


Police on Saturday booked both boys under IPC section 376 D (gang rape) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, reported PTI.


Police said that the investigation is underway.


"Investigation into the matter is underway. The minor accused have not been held yet," said the officer. 


In a separate incident, a two-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth of her village in Binawar police station area on Thursday. The incident took place on UP’s Budaun.


According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Alok Priyadarshi, the accused took the toddler to an agricultural field on Thursday evening when the alleged rape took place. Police nabbed the accused around 3 am on Friday, the SSP said, reported PTI.


Police said that the accused left the minor in the field and hearing her cry, villagers reached the spot where they found her in a critical condition. She was then sent to a district hospital, the SSP said. 


He was apprehended from Dhauspur Road early morning on Friday.


However, before the arrest, an encounter broke out between the accused and the police team, in which, he got injured in his leg and has been sent for treatment, the SSP said, news agency PTI reported.


A police vehicle was damaged in the encounter and another case has been filed against him for it, the SSP added.


According to the official, an FIR has been lodged against him under Indian Penal Code Section 376AB and POCSO Section 6.
