New Delhi: In a new development in the Shraddha Walker murder case, Rajesh Kumar, a plumber, at her Delhi residence has confirmed seeing both her and her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala together.

In a conversation with ABP News, Rajesh Kumar said that he saw Shraddha when the couple newly moved into the building in Mehrauli. He mentioned the first meeting with the couple, saying that he had received a call from the flat owner regarding issues of water supply that the new tenants were facing.

As per the plumber, he met both Shraddha and Aftab when he explained to them that there was a shortage in water supply due to summer season. He said he apprised them of necessary details pertaining to the water supply.

When asked about Shraddha, he said he didn't notice any signs of distress and she spoke to him normally.

Notably, while there are people who have identified Aftab as living in the flat, not many have so far revealed seeing Shraddha with him.

In an important angle, the Delhi Police found a pending water bill in the accused's flat even as 20,000 litres of water are provided free by the government, sources said.

This may be a pertinent direction to explore as Aftab would have used a lot of water to clean the blood stains leading to a high water bill and consequently, the pending amount.

Poonawala allegedly strangled Walkar in May this year and sawed her body into 35 pieces which he kept in a 300-litre fridge for almost three weeks at their residence before dumping them across the national capital over several days past midnight.

The Delhi Police will present the accused before Saket Court today and seek his further custody. As per sources, the police may probe the water bill angle if granted today by the court.
