As the Shraddha murder case gets murkier with every passing day, the victim's father has vowed to not rest until the death sentence is granted to the accused Aftab, adding that the accused has erased evidence. This comes as Aftab is going to be produced in court today where the police will ask for his remand.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Shraddha Walker's father Vikas Walker said, "Aftab is clever and has erased the evidence in the last five to six months. So, Police will face a little difficulty in bringing out the truth. I won't rest until Aftab is given a death sentence."
"Delhi Police realised that Aftab sometimes lies and sometimes speaks the truth. So, they applied for a Narco test. I feel I am about to get justice. If he has done the crime, he should be hanged. I always felt he was lying, I had told Mumbai and Delhi Police," he added.
The Delhi Police arrested accused Aftab for the grisly murder of his partner Shraddha Walker. Aftab allegedly killed her and chopped her in 35 pieces, stacked her remains in the refrigerator, and disposed them over a period of a few days in the Mehrauli forest.
The Delhi Police has recovered some parts of the skeleton from Shraddha Walkar’s chopped-off corpse with bone structures mainly from the back side of the body. As per ABP News sources, the police have recovered a pelvis and 10 other bones from a drain in the Mehrauli jungle. Shraddha was strangled and killed by her live-in partner, Aftab Amin Poonawala on May 18 who later chopped off her body into 35 pieces. Aftab had stacked the chopped body parts in a refrigerator and disposed of them at various places across Delhi.
As per the sources, the police have also found blood stains in Aftab’s kitchen, and the sample has been sent for testing to ascertain the person it belonged to.
Based on the investigation so far, the police suspect that after the killing, Aftab had chopped Shraddha’s body parts in the bathroom where he would turn on the shower so that the blood would drain out and the body could be easily cut up.
Aftab also tampered with the evidence as the sources told after disposing of Shraddha’s cut-up body parts, he cleaned the refrigerator with acid so that he could dodge probes by the forensic team if caught.
