The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday hit out at the Congress government in Rajasthan over the incident that took place in Pratapgarh district, where a tribal woman was allegedly stripped naked and paraded in a village in Pratapgarh district by her husband and in-laws. The saffron party said that the video is shocking and every single day there are instances of harassment against women.

BJP national president JP Nadda slammed the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government and said that governance in the state is totally absent. He further said that the CM and ministers are busy "settling factional squabbles", and "appeasing one dynasty in Delhi," and because of this, the issue of women's safety is being ignored in the state.

"The video from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan is shocking. What is worse is, governance in Rajasthan is totally absent. The CM and Ministers are busy settling factional squabbles, and the remaining time is spent appeasing one dynasty in Delhi. It's no wonder the issue of women’s safety is being completely ignored in the state. Every single day, there is an instance of harassment against women. The people of Rajasthan will teach the state Government a lesson," Nadda wrote on X.

BJP President of the Rajasthan unit CP Joshi said, "Today Rajasthan is again ashamed.... Administration not getting a clue about the incident of female atrocities in the lower quota of Pahada Gram Panchayat of Dhariyawad Tehsil of Pratapgarh district explains why Rajasthan is at number 1 in rape and atrocities against women,"

The National Commission for Women on Saturday condemned the incident. Taking to 'X' the NCW said, "NCW vehemently condemns the harrowing incident in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. A woman was molested, stripped, and recorded on video. Despite it happening two days ago, police inaction is unacceptable. @sharmarekha (NCW chairperson) has instructed the state's DGP to promptly arrest the culprits and invoke necessary IPC provisions. We demand a comprehensive report within five days".

Cops Arrest 3 After CM Gehlot Issues Stern Warning

Three accused have been arrested for allegedly stripping and parading a tribal woman naked at a village in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh, as reported by news agency PTI. The accused sustained injuries while trying to run away as police chased them. They are undergoing treatment in the district hospital.

Earlier, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot took cognisance of the incident and said that strict action will be taken and the people responsible for this incident will be punished after being prosecuted in a fast track court.

Gehlot took to X and said, "In Pratapgarh district, a video of a woman being stripped naked by her in-laws has surfaced in a family dispute between Pihar and in-laws. The Director General of Police has been instructed to send ADG Crime on the spot and take strict action in this matter. There is no place for such criminals in a civilized society. These criminals will be put behind bars as soon as possible and punished after being prosecuted in a fast track court."
