A man from Rajasthan's Banswara district attempted suicide after allegedly murdering his wife with an axe on Tuesday. The accused set dry grass on fire and jumped into it after allegedly killing his wife in Poonia Kheda village.
Raju was saved after he tried committing suicide and is currently undergoing treatment at a district hospital, Danpur SHO Rajveer Singh told news agency PTI.
The 32-year-old man, identified as Raju, allegedly killed his wife Nani on the suspicion of her friendship with another man.

In another similar incident reported from Sarainda Patti in Pilibhit, last month, a 35-year-old farmer Har Swaroop allegedly killed his wife with an axe. Swaroop's parents and younger brother were also allegedly involved in the crime and were arrested by the police.
The four accused were booked under IPC Section 302 (murder) and were sent to jail, said SHO Mukesh Shukla. The prime accused, Har Swaroop later confessed to doing the crime during the investigation and revealed that he killed his wife as she was involved in an affair with another man.
The victim's father filed a complaint in which he stated that his daughter was subjected to physical torture by her in-laws and husband. Her mother-in-law used to provoke Har Swaroop to kill her. He also stated that he had tried to settle things between the family but his daughter was murdered.
The village head had informed the victim's father that his daughter had been murdered by her husband after which he rushed to her place only to find her body lying in the courtyard.
In October 2023, a 52-year-old man allegedly killed his wife with an axe after they got into a heated argument in Uttar Pradesh's Badhya village. Sai Mohamamd, the accused attacked his wife during the argument after which she died on the spot. When his 20-year-old son Israr tried to stop him, he attacked him as well, leaving him critically injured.
