A 61-year-old lawyer's husband has been arrested for allegedly killing her at their Noida house. Nitin Nath Sinha, who has now been apprehended, allegedly hid in the bungalow's storeroom for more than 36 hours until police traced down his phone and apprehended him, news agency ANI reported. Supreme Court advocate Renu Sinha's corpse was discovered in the bathroom of their residence in Noida Sector 30 on Saturday. She stayed with her husband while their kid was away at college.

“Yesterday evening between 4-5 pm we received information that body of a woman is lying at her home in Noida Sector 30. The information was given by the brother of the woman,” Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Harish Chander was quoted by ANI in its report.

A police squad and the woman's brother arrived at the residence and forced open the door. Renu Sinha was discovered dead inside a bathroom as the residence was being searched. According to police, senior officers, forensic experts, and a dog squad are on the scene, PTI reported.

Police were notified when the lawyer's brother's calls to her remained unanswered for two days. When the police arrived to the cottage, they discovered the woman's body. Her spouse had gone away.

According to his statement, a police official stated, "We registered a FIR and after an intensive search, her husband Nitin Nath Singh was arrested around 2 a.m." According to the authorities, passports were taken from his possession, indicating that the accused intended to exit the country.

“The husband confessed that he wanted to sell off a property to which his wife was opposing and this led to a fight between a duo and he strangulated her to death”, DCP Chander stated.

According to DCP Harish Chander, the woman's brother also said that the pair had regular arguments, PTI reported.

Nitin Nath will be produced in court today, and more information is anticipated.
