A man allegedly beat his father to death in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Saturday after the latter refused to massage his feet.

The accused, Kushal alias Inga Shende, was arrested following the incident, which took place in the Nawabpura area of the city, PTI reported. Kushal, who reportedly has a criminal history, kicked and punched his father Dattatreya Shende in his chest, stomach, ribs, and head after the latter turned down his request to massage his feet, the report said.

Dattatreya’s eldest son, Pranav, tried to intervene but his attempts were unsuccessful, as Kushal threatened him, the report said. Pranav turned to his neighbours for help but, when he returned, he found his father lying unconscious on the floor, with severe injuries. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to PTI.

Following his arrest, Kushal was remanded in police custody until Monday.

Man Kills Father After 'Drunken Dispute'

In March, a man allegedly beat his elderly father to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad following a dispute that took place when the former was intoxicated. According to a report by The Times Of India, the 30-year-old accused was arrested for killing his father, 65, after a neighbour found the body and informed the police.

The accused has been identified as Golu Kumar. After receiving a call from the neighbour, police arrived at the scene and took Lali to hospital where he was pronounced dead, TOI reported. The body was subsequently taken for autopsy.

It was found in the initial investigation that, the night before, Golu had beaten up his father after a dispute erupted between the two of them. Golu was reportedly drunk at the time of the incident. The next morning, a neighbour found the gate open and saw Lali lying on the floor.

Golu was woken up by the police, and he was surprised to find out that his father was dead, reported TOI. Neighbours said the two would repeatedly get into fights, especially when Golu was drunk.
