New Delhi: The daughter of the 53-year-old woman whose body was found stuffed in a plastic bag in Mumbai’s Lalbaug area told the police she used a marble cutter to dismember her mother’s body, said the Mumbai Police, reported news agency ANI.

The accused daughter was identified as Rimple Jain and was arrested on March 15 by city’s Kalachowki Police after they recovered a small knife and cutters from the house.

"Mumbai's Kalachowki police arrested the daughter of the victim after registering a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC and the Arms Act," an officer said earlier.

The police questioned six persons in connection with the case, reported the news agency.

"We believe that the woman accused in this murder case did not act alone. She must have received help from someone,” said an investigating officer as quoted by the news agency.

As per the police, the daughter told during the interrogation that she panicked in the wake of the murder and, preserving the body for two days, she decided to chop it into pieces.

"To avoid the foul smell from the rotting corpse, the accused daughter watched a video online and incorporated ways to keep the body fresh as was shown in the clip," the officer said.
