In yet another development in the Kanjawara accident case, the woman named Nidhi, who was with the 20-year-old victim on the night of the horrific accident, reportedly was not in touch with her family, including her mother and siblings.

According to reports, she was living separately from the family for the last few years.

The CCTV footage accessed by the ABP news channel showed visuals of Nidhi when she returned home after surviving the horrific accident.

In the accident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, the victim named Anjali Singh, was killed after her scooty was hit by a car. After being hit, the body became entangled in the wheel and was dragged for more than 10 km in Delhi's Sultanpuri area.

The victim's body was found naked on the roadside in the Kanjhawala area in outer Delhi, triggering speculations of sexual assault by the accused.

But the post-mortem report indicated "no injury suggestive of sexual assault”.

The report stated “shock and hemorrhage as a result of antemortem injury to the head, spine, left femur and both lower limbs” as the provisional cause of death.

The Delhi Police on Tuesday said that she was not alone at the time of the accident and was accompanied by a friend who fled the spot after the accident.

"When we traced the route of the deceased, it was found that she wasn't alone on her scooty. A girl was with her at the time of the accident. She suffered injuries and fled from the spot but the deceased's legs got stuck in the car, after which she was dragged," said Delhi Police.

Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered a detailed inquiry into the matter by IPS Officer Shalini Singh, posted as the Special Commissioner of the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
