A Class 8 student of an MCD school in Delhi was allegedly battered to death by two men with stones and his body was later dumped in a drain in Badarpur area, PTI reported. The deceased, identified as Saurabh (12), was a resident of the Bilaspur camp in Molarband village and was a student of the MCD school at Tajpur Pahari, police said.
The police were alerted of the incident after a PCR call received at 8.20 pm on Thursday that a schoolboy was killed by two men. After searches, a police team found the body of the boy lying in a drain.
Giving details about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo said a schoolbag was found at the spot. A few metres away, four-five blood-stained stones and a blood-stained cotton towel were also found, PTI reported.
Upon preliminary inspection, police said the boy received multiple head injuries, apparently caused by a blunt object. "The presence of the blood-stained stones nearby indicated that the stones were possibly used in the commission of the crime," the officer said.
