In a coordinated operation involving the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Haryana Police, a man wanted in numerous criminal cases was apprehended from Nuh after a brief exchange of gunfire during the early hours of Tuesday, officials disclosed, as reported by news agency PTI. The apprehended individual, identified as Shakir alias Janu, sustained injuries during the altercation, as indicated by an officer, who mentioned that he sustained a gunshot wound in his leg.


According to the police, he was travelling on a motorbike when a joint team of Delhi and Haryana police stopped him. The officer further elaborated that Janu was allegedly implicated in the homicide of a Delhi Police head constable and was involved in firing incidents at the residence of a Haryana legislator.














Additionally, he had been declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in two cases in Delhi and carried a reward of Rs 10,000 for his capture, the officer concluded, PTI reported.


Wanted Criminal Linked To Murder Of Delhi Police Personnel In 2012: Police


According to the ANI, Nuh ASP Kuldeep Singh further outlined that Delhi Police provided them with intelligence regarding the wanted criminal linked to the 2012 murder of Delhi Police personnel. Based on the information, a team of the Haryana Police attempted to apprehend the suspect, but the criminal initiated gunfire.




In response, the team of police launched gunfire resulting in the suspect sustaining two gunshot wounds. He is presently receiving medical treatment. And, FIRs have been filed under sections 186, 353, and 307 of the IPC.
