New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a person named Rajeev Garg, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, on charges of kidnapping a girl and then selling her.
The police have rescued the victim from his clutches and are looking for the person, who bought her. The accused had sold the girl to one of his acquaintances Ram Mohan for Rs 50,000.
According to Delhi Police, a family had complained about their 16-year-old daughter missing in Ranhola police station area.

The family told the police that the girl had left the house saying that she would meet one of her friends but did not return.
When the police put the girl's number on the surveillance tab, they found the location of an unknown number in Madhya Pradesh.
During investigation, the police also came to know that the number was active in Delhi on the day the victim went missing.
The police then raided the suspect’s house and arrested Rajeev Garg, who during interrogation confessed that he sold the girl to his tenant Ram Mohan for Rs 50,000.
The police based on the confession raided the tenant's house and rescued the victim.
According to Delhi Police, the accused Rajiv Garg also raped the victim for several days after the abduction and then later sold her for Rs 50,000.
The Delhi Police said the victim had created her account on the Welike app and the accused had created a false account in the name of a girl on the same app.
The Delhi Police further said the two later became friends and began conversing on the app but when the victim came to know that she was talking to a boy then she stopped talking.

The accused then began calling the victim from another number and cajoled her to meet him once. The day the victim reached Madhuban Chowk area to meet him, the accused kidnapped her and then took her to Bhind in Madhya Pradesh where he raped her for several days and then later sold her to his tenant for Rs 50,000.
The police are looking for the tenant involved in this case.
