In its official notice, the DCW has requested a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) filed in connection with the incident. Additionally, the panel sought information about whether the police maintain a record of elderly individuals living alone within the district.

This incident follows a reported case of child abuse in the city wherein a three-and-a-half-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a school situated in the Panchsheel Enclave area of south Delhi, as per the police.
A PCR call was received by the Hauz Khas police station on August 1, reporting child abuse at a school near the Chirag Delhi flyover in Panchsheel Enclave, PTI reported a senior police official as informing.
The victim disclosed that she had been sexually abused by a school cleaner named Arjun Kumar (33), who had been arrested and charged under sections 376 (rape) and 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Arjun Kumar was subsequently placed in judicial custody.
