In the latest round of developments in Delhi's Bhogal jewellery shop theft, two people have been detained in the case from Chhattisgarh, and interrogation is underway. The police have seized Rs 12.50 lakh in cash and over 18kg of gold and diamonds from one of the accused, as reported by the news agency ANI.






Speaking to ANI, SP Bilaspur Santosh Singh said, "A raid was conducted in Durg, in which one person, namely Lokesh Srivas, was arrested. 7-8 cases of robbery are lodged against him in the Bilaspur PS. One of his accomplices was caught yesterday in Kawardha, and 23 lakh cash and jewellery were recovered from him. Lokesh ran away from there. When our team reached there, Raipur and Durg police also came along with us. When Lokesh was caught, around Rs 12.50 lakh of cash was recovered from his house. A big robbery took place in Delhi, and around 18.50 kg of gold and diamond jewellery have also been recovered. A team of Delhi police was also there. We did a joint operation. More revelations are possible in the future. Further investigation is underway," Santosh Singh told ANI.






Additional SP Bilaspur Sanjay Dhruv said that the accused is a high-profile thief and his movement was constantly monitored. "In a joint operation of Chhattisgarh Police and Delhi Police, a robbery case in a jewellery shop in Delhi has been solved. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway. The accused is a high-profile thief... We were constantly monitoring his movement and then further action was taken," Additional SP Bilaspur Sanjay Dhruv said, as quoted by ANI.
