Police said a 39-year-old man was detained for allegedly murdering his live-in girlfriend in outside Delhi's Nangloi region four months ago, news agency PTI reported. Pankaj Kumar Mehto, a native of Bihar's Samastipur, reportedly strangled his live-in girlfriend Tamanna (32) in August after she put pressure on him to divorce his wife and abandon his children, according to the police. The incident occurred on August 26 morning at a rented property in Nangloi, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer Delhi) Jimmy Chiram.
The Nangloi police station received information in the evening about the woman's body being discovered in the residence.
Tamanna's landlord informed authorities that she was residing with Mehto and her children following her divorce, according to Chiram.
