Delhi Crime News: A 50-year-old woman was shot at by two individuals while she was asleep in her residence in northeast Delhi on Saturday, according to police officials. The victim, identified as Shakila, sustained a bullet wound on her left shoulder, the authorities confirmed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast), Joy Tirkey, stated that the incident occurred at Janata Mazdoor Colony at approximately 2 am.
Initial investigations revealed that two assailants entered Shakila's house and opened fire while she was sleeping, explained DCP Tirkey, as per news agency PTI. Shakila’s son, Mohammad Ishtikar, lodged a complaint leading to the registration of a case under section 109(1)/3(5) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act at Welcome police station.
Shakila’s son, who previously worked for a courier company, has been unemployed for the past five months, according to police. Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and making efforts to identify and apprehend the culprits.

16-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead Outside Garment Shop In Jafrabad Area Of Northeast Delhi
In a separate incident, a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot outside a garment shop in the Jafrabad area of northeast Delhi on Thursday evening. Police reported that the incident occurred around 9:35 pm near Markari Chowk. The boy, along with his elder brother and a friend, was accosted and attacked by several individuals as they exited the shop after purchasing T-shirts, PTI reported.
DCP Joy Tirkey stated, "Around 9 pm, some individuals arrived on two scooters and accosted the group outside the shop. When the complainant resisted, one of the attackers opened fire, resulting in the 16-year-old boy being shot in the back."
The boy was rushed to GTB Hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment, added DCP Tirkey. An FIR has been registered based on a complaint from the victim's elder brother, and the police are examining CCTV footage to track down the perpetrators. The police mentioned that both the attackers and the victims were residents of either the Welcome area or Kabir Nagar area and were acquainted with each other, according to PTI.
