Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, a body of a man with injury marks was found outside a railway station in Palghar district, and the police suspect it to be a case of murder.

1) UP Cop Killed As SUV Hits Him On Duty 


A policeman was on Monday killed when an SUV hit him during vehicle-checking in Kaushambi, police said, as reported by news agency PTI.


The incident took place when checking of vehicles was going on in the morning due to a theft. The incident took place in the Sarai Akil area wherein constable Avinash Dubey (25) was hit by an SUV, Superintendent of Police Brijesh Srivastava said.


2) Man's Body Found Near Railway Station In Palghar, Cops Suspect Murder


The body of a 40-year-old man with injury marks has been found outside a railway station in Palghar district of Maharashtra, with the police suspecting it to be a case of murder, news agency PTI reported, citing an official.


Some passers-by spotted the body near a toilet close to the Naigaon railway station on Sunday evening and alerted the police, inspector Mangesh Aandhare from Naigaon police station said. The police rushed to the spot and sent the body to a government hospital for post-mortem.


3) 4 Students Killed In Road Accident In Karnataka


At least four students were killed and eight others were injured after the school bus they were travelling in collided with a tractor near Alagur village in Jamkhandi taluk of this district on Monday, police said, as quoted by news agency PTI.


Police said the students of Vardhaman Mahaveer Educational Society at Alagur aged between 13 and 17 were returning from Kavatagi village when the mishap happened. The injured students have been admitted to a nearby hospital, police said.


4) 5 of Family Killed In Road Accident In Telangana 


At least 5 members of a family, including two children, died while another suffered serious injuries after the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a speeding lorry in Nalgonda district of Telangana, police said on Monday, as reported by news agency PTI.


According to PTI, the incident took place when all the family members were returning to their village in the district in a car late Sunday night after a visit to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The car was hit by the lorry coming in the opposite direction on the highway near Miryalguda in the district. The driver of the car tried to avoid hitting a dog but ended up landing on the other side of the highway, they said.


5) 2 Killed In LPG Cylinder Blast In Karnataka


Two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries in an LPG gas cylinder explosion in Belagavi city of Karnataka on Monday, as reported by news agency IANS.  The incident occurred in an apartment in Basavanagalli locality in the city.


According to IANS, the deceased are identified as 80-year-old Kamakshi Bhat and 27-year-old Hemanth Bhat. The deceased hailed from Udupi district in the state.


The other three, who were in the flat, also sustained serious injuries. The condition of two among them is critical and were being treated at a private hospital. Khadebazar police have registered a case in this regard. The police are yet to ascertain how the mishap occurred.
