Fraud Scheme Offering Money To 'Impregnate' Childless Women Busted In Bihar, 8 Held

Bihar police has busted a gang of cyber scammers who allegedly offered money to men to "impregnate" women who were not able to conceive a child with their partners. The police have arrested eight people from the state's Nawada district for allegedly luring men on the pretext of 'All India Pregnant Job (Baby Birth Service)' and offering them to earn Rs 13 lakhs if they "impregnate" a woman and Rs 5 lakhs if they could not.

According to the police, the group charged a registration fee of Rs 799 from those who showed an interest and later sought an additional amount as security money ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Bihar police arrested the gang members in an operation on Dec 29, the police said. They have seized nine smartphones, sim, a printer and other incrimination documents from their possession. The police conducted a raid on the premises associated with one Munna Kumar, believed to be the mastermind behind this cybercrime network, police said.

"Secret information was received that some cyber criminals are committing cyber crimes on innocent people near the brick boring in village Gurma under Mufassil police station. On the information received, SIT under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (M) cum Cyber immediately reached the spot," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kalyan Anand.

He added that an FIR has been registered naming 26 people out of which, 18 escaped while police managed to catch eight of them. Police have sent the accused into judicial custody.
