A nurse was on Saturday stabbed to death in Bihar's Patna while she was on her way to her hostel, the police said. The deceased was identified as Soni Kumari from Purnia district and the incident took place near Sai Netralaya in the Kankarbagh police station area. Patna Sadar Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kamya Mishra said that the matter prima facie appears to be of personal enmity caused by a family feud, however, a probe is underway and the culprit is yet to be arrested.
"She was going to her hostel after completing her shift when she was stabbed. Prima facie the matter seems to be of personal enmity. The deceased has been identified as Soni Kumari. No one has been arrested so far. Further probe underway," the police official said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
According to the cop, Soni Kumari died while she was being taken to the hospital.
As per local inputs, both the accused and the nurse were talking to each other when he suddenly attacked the woman with a knife and fled from the spot. She was stabbed more than five times in his chest and stomach.
The police are combing through the CCTV footage while the deceased nurse's family has been informed about her death. The body has been sent for postmortem.
