In a chilling development from Indore, four individuals have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Among those taken into custody is 20-year-old Raj Singh Kushwaha, whose family vehemently denies his involvement, calling the allegations “false and heartbreaking.”
Raj’s mother, her voice trembling with emotion, pleaded for justice. “My son cannot do anything like this. He is just 20 years old... He is my everything... My son worked in Sonam’s brother’s factory... He is being falsely accused. I request the government to prove him innocent. He is innocent...” she said, her words painting a portrait of desperation and disbelief.
Raj’s sister echoed similar sentiments, defending both Raj and another accused. “Vicky and Raj both are my brothers. They can never do something like this. My brother Raj did not go anywhere. You can ask the people at his office. My only demand is that my brother should be released. He is not involved in the murder. My brother is innocent...” she said, standing firm in her belief.
Shillong Police Lead Interrogation
Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed that the investigation is progressing swiftly. “All four accused are currently in Indore Police Commissionerate and interrogation is being done by Shillong Police. The transit remand of the three accused was taken yesterday. Today, the fourth accused has been arrested. Shillong Police will take all four accused with them today after taking transit remand,” he said.
Shocking Allegations: Money Was the Motive
The case has taken a darker turn with startling revelations emerging from the interrogation of the accused. According to police sources, the murder plot was allegedly masterminded by Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused, who is said to have enticed the killers with a promise of money.
In a statement that has shocked investigators, one of the accused reportedly said, “We were exhausted after climbing the hill and refused to kill Raja. That’s when Sonam told us, ‘I will give you ₹20 lakh, but Raja must be killed.’” To back her offer, she allegedly pulled out ₹15,000 in cash from Raja’s wallet and handed it over as an advance payment.
A Chilling Plan to Lure Raja Into Isolation
As the investigation unfolds, police have uncovered that Sonam had meticulously planned the attack during a trip to Shillong. Her alleged objective: isolate Raja and lure him to a deserted location. The lure of money and pre-paid cash has only deepened suspicions around her motives.
Further revelations indicate that Sonam was in constant contact with her lover, Raj Kushwaha. She reportedly shared her location with him, which was then relayed to other accused individuals – Anand, Akash, and Vishal.
