US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti on Wednesday was spotted exploring the heritage of Delhi as he visited a rooftop accompanied by his delegation.

He was seen enjoying the iconic view of the Jama Masjid from the Gumbad cafe, which is located in New Delhi's Dariba Kalan. Garcetti, who has openly expressed his love for India and its culture and traditions, even posed for pictures with the Jama Masjid in the background. He also clicked pictures with the delegation which came along with him.

The video of the US Ambassador's visit to the cafe was shared on the latter's Instagram handle.

"His Excellency, @ericgarcetti (the Ambassador of the USA) along with his esteemed delegation, visited @gumbad.cafe and had an amazing time exploring its charm and heritage. It was an honor to host such distinguished guests," the post read.

In October this year, Garcetti left everyone surprised when he performed at the Diwali celebrations held at the Delhi embassy. The US Ambassador danced to the popular Bollywood song 'tauba tauba' from a movie named Bad Newz starring Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri.

Dressed in traditional Indian attire, Garcetti danced his heart out as he performed bhangra to the song during the celebrations.

Garcetti had first visited India as a teenager and fell in love with the country's hospitality, warmth, and culture. His life came a full circle when he was appointed the US Ambassador to India for which he had to come back to New Delhi.

Earlier this year, he completed one year of service in India in May. On the occasion, he shared a "year review" where he shared about the "incredible" one year he spent in India and how the "the warmth of the people and our shared dreams that truly stole my heart".

In his year review, he spoke about enjoying 'kadak chai', 'chhole', and using UPI payments, while taking key bilateral decisions and working on strengthening the bonds between the two nations.
