In a shocking turn of events, a 36-year-old woman, who had hired a hitman to get her daughter killed, ended up getting murdered by him in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district.

Alka Devi was furious with her daughter over her love affair and misconduct and wanted to get her killed to stop her. But she fell victim to her own plot and her body was found in a millet field, which comes under the district's Jasrathpur police station, six days ago on October 6. It was only then that the twisted tale came to light and what looked like a case of murder or contract killing actually turned out to be a plot of two lovers.

Subhash, the contract killer, was hired by Alka to murder her own daughter in exchange of Rs 50,000. However, little did she know that she had contacted her daughter's lover, who, in exchange for a marriage proposal, would instead murder her.

On October 5, Alka Devi had gone to Etah to plead a case. When she didn't return till late evening, her husband tried to contact her. He started looking around for his wife when he tried calling on her mobile multiple times but it remained switched off. Soon he got a call from the police, asking him to identify a dead body that turned out be his missing wife's, NDTV reported.

After identification, Alka's body was sent for a postmortem and her husband Ramakant registered a case at Jasrathpur police station against two men-- Akhilesh and Aniket. Both of them belonged to his village and had been accused of lurking and kidnapping Alka's daughter in the past. About eight months ago, Alka's daughter had also eloped with her lover Akhilesh. The Naya Gaon police had even put Akhilesh behind bars after the girl's mother reported him. The minor girl was sent to her family after being rescued safely, news ageny PTI reported.

Akhilesh was released from jail two months ago, following which Alka Devi probably got scared and decided to send her daughter away to her maternal home in Farrukhabad district's Sikandarpur Khas village. The minor girl reportedly met and developed a relationship with 38-year-old Subash, who had already served 10 years in jail for rape. He had even got her a mobile phone so that they could talk.

When Alka decided to get her killed she contacted Subash and offered him Rs 50,000 to execute the murder, unaware that he her daughter's second lover. When Subhash disclosed the plan to the girl, she offered to marry him to spare her life.

As per her plan with Subash, Alka brought back her daughter from her maternal home on September 27 and handed her over to him. The couple fooled Alka by sending her fake photos of her daughter's murder. When Alka did not pay the promised money to Subash and failed to believe the photographs were real, he called her to Agra where the trio reunited.

They travelled to Etah from Agra and went to Ramleela fair. By this time, the daughter had allegedly convinced her lover to murder her mother and promised to marry him if he would do it. They got down before Aliganj and took Alka to Nagla Chandan, where they allegedly strangled her to death. Subash has been arrested by the police.
