The Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women has mandated the deployment of female staff at various public places like gyms, yoga centres, and educational institutes among others in its diktat to "ensure safety of women."
The decisions were taken during a meeting of the women's body organised by State Women Commission chief in Lucknow, said Shamli Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hamid Hussain. The resolution on the decision has been passed and will now be implemented, he said.
The decision mandates appointing a female trainer and verification of the trainer in women's gyms and yoga centres. Anyone entering the gym or yoga centre will be required to show an Aadhar Card of Voter ID card. All the gym and yoga centres will have to install CCTV cameras along with DVR and ensure its functioning.
A female security guard or a female teacher will have to be deployed in school buses. Coaching centres need to install CCTV cameras and ensure the facility of washrooms.
Theatre arts centres in the state will need to have a female dance teacher and be equipped with CCTV cameras and DVR.
Places such as cloth shops and boutiques will need to have female employees and female workers for the purpose of taking measurements and other such activities.
