UP: Mentally Unstable Man Beaten Up By Kanwariyas In Muzaffarnagar, Rescued By Cops
A mentally unstable man was allegedly beaten up by a group of Kanwariyas at the Kanwar camp at Meenakshi Chowk in UP's Muzaffarnagar district.
UP News: A group of Kanwariyas allegedly beat up and injured a mentally unstable man at the Kanwar camp at Meenakshi Chowk in the Muzaffarnagar district, news agency ANI reported on Thursday, citing an official. He was rescued by the police who were present at the scene.
Giving details pertaining to the incident, City Superintendent of Police (SP) Satyanarayan Prajapati said that the mentally unstable individual had waved a stick towards a Kanwariya, after which a group of Kanwariyas beat him up.
"A mentally unstable person had reached the Kanwar camp at Meenakshi Chowk. He had a stick in his hand and waved the stick towards a Kanwariya. In response to this, the Kanwariyas beat him up, and when he ran away from there, the other Kanwariyas chased him," said the official, as quoted by ANI.
The police official further stated that the police present on the spot countered the Kanwariyas who were beating him and saved the person. "The victim was given first aid and has been kept under observation. The situation is under control," the SP added.
Kanwariyas Assault E-Rickshaw Driver In Uttarakhand
More than a dozen Kanwariyas were booked for allegedly assaulting the driver of an e-rickshaw and damaging the vehicle with bamboo sticks in Uttarakhand's Haridwar district, news agency PTI reported on Wednesday, citing officials.
The incident took place in the presence of policemen on Tuesday afternoon near a mill in the Libberhedi area along the Delhi highway in Manglaur, the officials said. The group of Kanwariyas attacked the e-rickshaw driver named Sanjay Kumar and his vehicle, as he had allegedly hit one of them, who left unharmed.
In a PTI video, a group of about a dozen Kanwariyas can be seen attacking the e-rickshaw with bamboo sticks while the policemen try to pacify them. A case under different sections of Bharatiya Nyay Samhita has been registered at Manglaur police station against unidentified Shiv devotees.
