Odisha Tribal Woman Assaulted, Forced To Eat Faeces In Bolangir
Bolangir's Superintendent of Police, Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, expressed confidence that the accused would be arrested soon.
A 20-year-old tribal woman in the Bolangir district of Odisha was allegedly assaulted, and human faeces were forcibly shoved into her mouth, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place on November 16 in Jurabandha village in Bangamunda police station area.
According to the report by news agency PTI, the accused, a non-tribal man, was operating a tractor on the agricultural land of a woman, resulting in the damage of crops. When she protested, he assaulted her and forced human faeces into her mouth. The FIR report also claims that when her aunt attempted to intervene, she was also attacked.
During a press conference in Bhubaneswar, BJD MP Niranjan Bisi criticised the police for failing to act against the accused, sparking outrage among the tribal community. He warned that the state government would be held accountable if the law and order situation in Bangamunda deteriorated.
