An express train from Jammu to Jodhpur was stopped at Ferozpur after police received a phone call regarding a bomb threat onboard. Police teams have reached the spot and an investigation is underway, reported ANI. Somnath Express was travelling from Jammu to Jodhpur when it was stopped at Kesu Bagu station in Punjab's Ferozepur. 


Ferozepur Senior Superintendent of Police Saumya Mishra said that passengers have been evacuated from the train and three bomb disposal sqaud teams of Punjab police were sent to the spot.


"Ferozepur police received information that a train has been stopped at Kasu Begu Railway station... Police have reached the spot and the area has been cordoned off. The passengers have been evacuated," said the police official while speaking to reporters in Ferozepur. 






"Three bomb disposal squad teams of Punjab Police will be reaching the spot. Dog squad teams have reached the spot...," she added. 


Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force were also the part of the search operation, the SSP said. An ambulance and a fire brigade were stationed at the spot.

On being asked when the train could resume operation, Mishra said the investigation was underway which will take some time. The train will move only after getting clearance from the specialised teams and officials of the Railway Police Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP). 


Residents from the nearby areas were providing tea and food to the passengers at the railway station.
