Maharashtra News: A 16-year-old boy died in Maharashtra's Pune after he allegedly jumped from the 14th floor of a residential building in city's Pimpri Chinchwad area. The incident took place at around midnight on Thursday.

The police recovered a "log out" message from the deceased teenager's notebook that led them to suspect that he was involved in an online game, which can be a possible cause of his death. The boy was addicted to playing the online game as per his parents, said Swapna Gore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I).

"We have found a purported suicide note from his notebook mentioning 'log out'. He also wrote 'XD,' which could be the online game he was playing. We are investigating the exact trigger behind the suicide," the police officer said, as quoted by news agency PTI. He was a student of class 10 from a local school. The father of the deceased works in a firm in Nigeria, and his mother, an engineer, is a homemaker.

Teenager's Laptop Handed Over To Cyber Experts

Police have seized his laptop and handed it over to cyber experts to crack the password. "Besides the mention of 'log out', police also found three drawings resembling maps of a building. One of the maps described how to commit 'suicide'," Gore said, as quoted by PTI.

Police are trying to find out when the maps were drawn and whether they were old or freshly created on the day of the incident. A case of accidental death has been registered.

In another incident that took place earlier this month, a youth committed suicide by hanging himself after he lost money in an online betting game in Amet town of Rajasthan's Rajsamand district.

According to PTI, the deceased was identified as Shivraj Raigar (22), son of Hazari Lal Raigar, a resident of Raigar Basti in the Bikavas area.

Shivraj, who worked at an e-mitra shop and was addicted to betting games, lost money, after which he withdrew Rs 70,000 from his parents' account but eventually lost that too.

After losing all the money, Shivraj became upset. Fearing embarrassment, he hanged himself in his room on Wednesday night. The incident occurred when Hazari went to Jodhpur for some work and the rest of the family members were on the farm.
