Thane: 28-Year-Old UPSC Aspirant Ends His Life, Leaves Note Saying ‘Couldn't Fulfil The Very High Hopes’

Thane News: A 28-year-old civil services aspirant died by suicide by jumping from an eighth-floor building reportedly due to depression from failing the UPSC exam.

Thane News: A 28-year-old civil services aspirant allegedly ended his life by jumping from the eighth floor of a building in Thane city, Maharashtra, on Saturday evening. The police reported that the incident occurred around 8:30 pm in the Vartak Nagar area.

According to an official from the Vartak Nagar police station, a suicide note was discovered at the man's residence. The note contained an apology to his family, expressing regret over his inability to meet the high expectations placed on him, news agency PTI reported. "It's difficult for me to survive in this world, sorry to my parents, brothers, and everyone. I couldn't fulfil the very high hopes, I loved them and nobody is responsible for my death," the note stated.

The official further mentioned that the man's friends believed he might have been depressed due to his failure to clear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam, which could have led to his drastic decision. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital after the fall, but was declared dead on arrival. The body has since been sent to a government hospital for postmortem. The police have registered a case of accidental death and further investigations are ongoing.

NEET Aspirant Dies By Suicide In Kota

Previously, a 21-year-old NEET aspirant from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district was found dead in Kota, Rajasthan. The student, identified as Parshuram, allegedly took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his rented accommodation in the Old Jawahar Nagar area, news agency IANS reported.

Jawahar Nagar SHO Harinarayan Sharma confirmed the incident, stating that the landlord discovered the student's body hanging and immediately informed the police control room. A police team arrived at the scene around 11:30 pm on September 4 and took the body down before transferring it to MBS Hospital. The student's family reached Kota on September 5, at which point the postmortem process began.

Parshuram's father revealed that his son had been preparing for the NEET exam in Kota for three years. Despite scoring 490 marks on his first attempt and improving to 647 marks recently, he had been stressed due to the ongoing NEET controversy. His uncle, Chatar Singh, mentioned that the student had recently returned to Kota after visiting home and used to speak to his father and brother daily.

On the day of the incident, Parshuram had told his father over the phone, "I am not feeling well, I want to come," before hanging up. Concerned, his father tried calling back, but there was no response. Later that night, the student hanged himself in his room.
