The investigation case of a 35-year-old woman from Telangana's Hyderabad, whose husband allegedly killed her and boiled her body parts to dump into different locations, has hit a roadblock as no body part has been recovered by the police yet.
A report from Hindustan Times, quoting The Indian Express, stated that the probe team is substantiating the evidence, as they are yet to locate the body parts of the lady.
The Hyderabad police said that the victim's husband, Gurumurthy, have confessed to having committed the crime on Wednesday and claimed he killed his wife, P Madhavi, cooked her body parts, and dumped them in various locations, including in the Jillelaguda Lake. As per the details, the police have recovered a pressure cooker, water heater, and knives.
“We cannot go by mere claims. We are collecting all technical and scientific pieces of evidence. The case is under investigation,” Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu said, as reported by Hindustan Times.
The husband, now in custody, earlier claimed that he disposed of the remains in a lake after boiling them. The woman had been reported missing about a week earlier, leading her parents to file a police complaint. The suspect, employed as a security guard was a former army personnel.
As per the details, the accused is suspected to have committed the crime after an argument with his wife. Police stated that further details will be revealed as the investigation progresses.
“As of now, we don’t have any reasons to believe it was a premeditated crime. It seems like the result of a petty quarrel. We are questioning the suspect and we have not recovered any body parts. We do not have enough clues,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch Praveen Kumar told The Indian Express.
The victim, was reported missing on January 18 when her mother Subamma complained to the police.
