While speaking on the birth anniversary of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray hit back at Amit Shah on the Home Minister's earlier comment that the last Maharashtra assembly elections, in which Shiv Sena (UBT) was wiped out, will show Uddhav Thackeray his place.

Uddhav said, as quoted by ANI, "Amit Shah said that these elections will show Uddhav Thackeray his place. Okay, Amit Shah ji! You will see what an injured tiger can do and what his claws can do. Don’t mess with 'Marathi manush'. We forced Aurangzeb to kneel down, who is Amit Shah?..."

Continuing to target the BJP, Uddhav Thackeray said, "The way people stopped Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ashwamedh Yagna' in the Lok Sabha elections, the shock of it is still in his heart. They say that Sharad Pawar betrayed, the betrayers are with you and are ministers. There is a gathering of traitors today too. The people of Maharashtra are being slaughtered by giving knives in their hands."

The former Maharashtra CM also challenged the BJP-led central government of holding elections on ballot papers.

However, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in response to Uddhav Thackeray's comment on Amit Shah said, "Amit Bhai, whenever you visit Mumbai, it seems to cause discomfort to some people here. Certain individuals say they will bring out the 'Wagh Nakh' (tiger claws) for Amit Shah. But let me remind them that holding the 'Wagh Nakh' requires the courage of a lion, and Amit Shah has it", as reported by India TV.
