Uttarakhand Bus Accident: A bus carrying 45 school children from Bageshwar to Dehradun in Uttarakhand met with an accident late Tuesday night. As the bus went out of control and went off the road, a girl's leg got stuck in the bus. However, she was later rescued and taken out.
The bus belonged to Bageshwar Maharana Pratap Sports College and the students were travelling to Dehradun to participate in a sports event. There was chaos at the spot after the accident. Police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, a joint team of SDRF and district police reached the spot and started rescue work.
16-Year-Old Girl's Leg Gets Stuck In The Bus
SDRF Inspector Kavinder Sajwan said that 16-year-old Nancy Takoli's leg got stuck in the bus, due to which she was unable to get out. After which the team conducted a rescue operation and took Nancy out safely and saved her from serious injury. The rescue team confirmed that all the students were safe and no one had suffered serious injuries. After the accident, all the students were safely transported to their destination through another vehicle.
The exact cause of the accident is being investigated. The technical condition of the vehicle is also being inspected and the driver has also been questioned in this regard. The promptness of the local administration and police immediately after the accident was commendable.
SP Rural Jaya Baluni herself monitored the situation and directed all the officers. The SDRF and police team carried out a rapid rescue operation and not only rescued the trapped girl, but also evacuated other students safely. Local people present near the spot also helped in the rescue work.
