Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was stabbed six times during a suspected burglary at his Bandra residence in the early hours of Thursday. The actor, known for films like Omkara and Hum Tum, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital at 3:30 a.m. and underwent a medical procedure.


The Mumbai Police have launched a high-profile investigation into the incident, forming seven teams to probe the attempted burglary-turned-violent. Forensic experts, a Dog Squad, and Crime Branch personnel are actively working on the case.  


According to preliminary reports, an unidentified intruder entered Saif’s home at around 2:30 a.m. A scuffle ensued between the actor and the assailant, resulting in the injuries.  


"A few family members were present in the house at the time of the incident," a police official confirmed.  


While the possibility of a robbery is being investigated, senior officials have refrained from commenting further.  


The Bandra police have sealed off the area and are collecting evidence from the scene. More updates are expected as the investigation progresses.

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Khan sustained six stab wounds, with two classified as deep injuries. One of the deep wounds, located near his spine, required the involvement of a neurosurgeon. Additionally, a wrist injury on his left hand necessitated repair by a plastic surgeon.  






Kareena Kapoor Issues Statement  


In a statement, the actor’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, assured fans that while Saif is undergoing treatment, the rest of the family is safe.


"There was an attempted burglary in our residence last night. Saif sustained an injury on his arm and is in the hospital undergoing a procedure. The family is fine," her team said.
