The Bandra Police has recorded actor Saif Ali Khan's statement, detailing the chain of incidents that occurred on the intervening night of January 16 and 17, when a burglar stabbed him. In the statement, he said that there are three bedrooms on the 11th floor of the Satguru Sharan Apartments, where he lives with his wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan and children Jehangir and Taimur.

Kareena and Saif have one bedroom to themselves, Taimur and his caretaker Geeta occupy the second room, and Jehangir has the third room where his nanny Eliama Philip also lives.

According to police sources, Saif Ali Khan told the police in his statement that he and his wife, Kareena, were in their bedroom on the 11th floor when they heard the screams of Jahangir's nanny Eliama Philip.

How Burglar Slipped From Saif Ali Khan's Hands

Alerted by the commotion, Saif and Kareena ran to Jeh's room, where they saw the assailant. Saif's younger son Jeh was crying in a corner. Saif then tried to tackle the assailant and stop him. Saif had a firm grip on the burglar, but to free himself, the assailant attacked him with a knife, slashing at his neck and hands, and then stabbing him in the back.

By this time, the others in the household had backed away from the room where the fight was going on.

Despite being wounded, Saif Ali Khan managed to shove the assailant into Jehangir's room and lock it. Everyone then fled to the 12th floor with Jeh.

After some time, four other male employees rushed down in order to tie up the burglar and hand him over to the police. But when they entered the room, in which the assailant was locked, they found it was empty; the burglar had fled.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw.
