RG Kar News: Sanjay Roy, the accused in the Kolkata doctor's rape and murder case, was sent to judicial custody till September 6 by a Sealdah Court on Friday, August 23. He is being questioned by the CBI to determine the chain of events on the night of the incident and to find the possible involvement of others in the crime. Sanjay Roy has also consented to a polygraph test, the date of which will be decided soon. 


Earlier, Sanjay Roy was sent to a 14-day remand, which is ending on Friday.






The Supreme Court on Thursday had directed the ACJM of Sealdah to take a final decision by Friday on the CBI's application for the polygraph test of accused Sanjay Roy in the RG Kar Medical College doctor rape-murder case. However, the CBI wants to conduct a polygraph test of Sandip Ghosh and four others, the permission for which was granted to the Central agency on Friday.

CBI To Take Over Case RG Kar Corruption Probe


Meanwhile, the Calcutta High Court has allowed the CBI to investigate all corruption allegations pertaining to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The case was handed over to the CBI as the central agency is investigating the junior doctor's murder case, in which former principal of RG Kar MCH Sandip Ghosh is being questioned. The corruption allegations are mainly against Sandip Ghosh and he is being questioned by the CBI in the doctor's death case.


Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj ordered the CBI to take possession of the case files by 10 AM on Saturday.
