RG Kar News Today: Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the RG Kar Medical College doctor's rape-murder case, underwent a polygraph test on August 25. However, his answers raised more questions than answers. CBI sources told ABP that he confessed to the murder, but denied the rape.

CBI sources said Sanjay Roy's polygraph test answers indicated that he did cover the victim's mouth to kill her. But he consistently denied the rape allegation.

How Is Polygraph Test Conducted?

A polygraph test begins with simple questions like 'what is your name', 'where do you live', and 'what is your favourite food'. Once the interviewer is convinced that the subject of the test is answering truthfully, s/he begins to ask questions with 'yes/no' and short answers.

Sanjay Roy's polygraph questions and answers

  • Did you rape someone?
    Answer - No.

  • Did you go there?
    Answer - Yes, I did.

  • Why did you go there?
    Answer - For some work.

  • Was there anyone else?
Answer - No. There was no one on the third floor [seminar hall, the purported scene of crime].

  • Did you press her nose and mouth?
    Answer - Yes.

  • Was there someone with you then?
    Answer - No.

  • Tell me the truth. Did you rape her or not?
    Answer - No

Sanjay's polygraph test answers have complicated the investigation for the CBI. Since Sanjay is admitting to the murder, but denying the rape, the CBI will have to now see if someone sent him to the seminar hall.

So far, the CBI has conducted seven polygraph tests. But no one has been arrested except Sanjay Roy. The four others arrested from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, including its ex-principal Sandip Ghosh were arrested in a corruption case.

Sandip Ghosh and the others, including his bodyguard and two medical suppliers, were arrested on Monday and sent to 8 days in CBI remand. While the others have sought bail, Sandip Ghosh refrained from seeking relief.
