In a significant move to preserve the sanctity of religious sites in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed a complete ban on the sale of meat and fish (non-vegetarian items) along key spiritual routes. These include Rampath, Dharmpath, Bhaktipath, the 14-Kosi Parikrama Marg, and the Panchkosi Parikrama Marg.
Following the Chief Minister’s directive, the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has launched a strict enforcement drive. On Wednesday, Assistant Commissioner of Food, Manik Chandra Singh, along with his team, inspected these sacred paths.
The inspection began from Sahadatganj in Ayodhya Cantt and continued up to the Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya Dham, covering the entire 13-kilometer stretch of Rampath. During the visit, vendors selling non-vegetarian food were clearly instructed to shut down their shops within seven days.
