The much-anticipated Namo Bharat Metro line, connecting Ghaziabad to the upcoming Noida International Airport has begun to take shape. The project aims to facilitate the convenience of commuting between Delhi NCR and the new airport which is being built in Jewar.
According to a Business Today report, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation has reportedly started an extensive population survey to better understand the rising demand for public transport.
The Namo Bharat Metro train's route will be approximately 72.4 kilometres long and will have 22 proposed stations. The train will start from Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad and reach Noida International Airport via Greater Noida West and Alpha One.
The project is expected to be completed by 2031.
The metro line will pass through important locations of the NCR including Sector 71 in Noida, Greater Noida West (Noida Extension), Tech Zone 4, and Pari Chowk, the report added.
The project is being spearheaded by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation. The project is expected to reduce the travel time for commuters while providing a convenient alternative to road transport.
Besides providing an easy option for commuters to reach Noida International, the Namo Bharat Metro Line also aimed to streamline access for professionals working in the tech zones and other commercial hubs of Noida and Greater Noida, addressing the rising demand for public transport in the National Capital Region.
