The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Raigad district and an Orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg for Wednesday.
The met agency had predicted heavy rainfall in Mumbai and other Maharashtra districts and coastal Karnataka for Tuesday (September 24).
Meanwhile, the (IMD) has issued an 'orange' alert for Goa on Wednesday and a 'yellow' alert for Thursday. The coastal state witnessed heavy rains overnight which led to waterlogging at several places on Tuesday morning.
In Himachal Pradesh, 23 roads are still closed in the state even as the local meteorological office warned of heavy rains in Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts on Wednesday.
It also issued a 'yellow' warning for thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in six out of 12 districts of the state on Wednesday and Thursday. A maximum of 10 roads are closed in Kangra, six in Mandi, four in Kullu, two in Shimla and one in Sirmaur district while nine power supply schemes have been affected, as per the state emergency operation centre.
