A shocking incident has come to the fore in Mumbai where a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Malvani area. Police have arrested two men in connection with the crime, while a search is underway for the third accused.
The incident took place when the minor had gone to a fabrication unit to meet one of the suspects. All three of them, aged 21 to 23, worked at a workshop at the unit.
The matter was brougt to light only after the victim's brother found out about it. Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into the incident and a case was registered under the POCSO Act.
A special police team has been formed to trace and arrest the third suspect who remains on the run.
17-Year-Old Gang-Raped Overnight In Haryana
In another similar incident, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped overnight by three men from her village in Haryana's Nuh district. They used prior blackmail videos to coerce her.
Police registered an FIR at Sadar Tauru police station under BNS and POCSO Act sections after her father's complaint, with special teams formed for raids. As of latest reports, the accused, identified as Waseem, Afroz, and another Waseem, remain at large, with no confirmed arrests.
The accused reportedly assaulted the girl months earlier, filmed it, gave her a phone, and forced ongoing contact under threats of video release. On Friday night, they lured her from home to fields near a tube-well, held her hostage, and took turns raping her until releasing her around 11 AM on Saturday with further death and video threats.
Her family searched overnight without success before she returned and disclosed the ordeal.
Two special teams are raiding locations to apprehend the men, known to the victim, with charges including aggravated sexual assault, intimidation, and wrongful confinement. Inspector Sheesh Ram, SHO at Sadar Tauru, confirmed the case registration and ongoing operations.
