In response to a potential war-like situation or severe national security crisis, the Mumbai Civil Defence Department has issued a detailed and structured safety advisory. The guidelines are aimed at safeguarding citizens, residential societies, schools, and corporate offices.
The directive is intended to enhance public awareness, ensure safety, and enable a coordinated response during emergencies. The advisory comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, India's fight against cross-border terrorism funded by Pakistan.

The Mumbai Civil Defence Department's advisory mention the following points:

- Keep an emergency kit ready with a torch, batteries, first aid supplies, essential medicines, water, dry food, power banks, ID proof, and cash.
- Learn about the nearest bunkers, shelters, and blackout protocols.
- Upon getting an emergency alert, stay away from windows, switch off lights, and use stairs instead of elevators.
