A woman and her four daughters were found murdered in a hotel room in Lucknow on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as the woman's 24-year-old son Arshad. The family, originally from Agra, had come to Lucknow to celebrate the New Year.


The man allegedly killed his mother Asma along with sisters Alia (aged 9 years), Alshia (aged 19 years), Aksa (aged 16 years) and Rehmin (aged 18 years). Senior officials and local police immediately reached the spot and started necessary action.


Babloo Kumar, the Joint Commissioner of Police, said, "Bodies of 5 people have been found - four girls and their mother. The hotel staff said they had come here on December 30 and their brother, and father were also there. The matter is being further investigated."






The accused has been arrested from the spot and a detailed investigation and further legal action is being taken in this case.


Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Lucknow, Raveena Tyagi, said the incident took place at Hotel Sharanjit in Naka area of the state capital. She said the preliminary inquiry has revealed that the man took the step because of domestic disputes.


The forensic teams have been deployed at the crime spot to collect evidence while a detailed probe has been launched into the matter, she said.
