Shiv Sena Ekanth Shinde faction workers have vandalised the office of The Uncontinental Mumbai, the venue where comedian Kunal Kamra held a show recently taking a dig at the Deputy Chief Minister for switching sides.
The enraged Sena worker reached the venue as the video of the performance went viral and vandalised the hotel. An FIR has also been booked by Mumbai police against the comedian at Khar police station, according to PTI.
In the show titled 'Naya Bharat', uploaded on YouTube on Sunday, Kamra extensively discussed contemporary politics and took a dig at Shinde for splitting the party and aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party and terming him a "traitor".
In an apparent jibe, he sang a spoof song of 'Dil To Pagal Hai', referring to "a leader from Thane," making remarks about Shinde's physical appearance and his equation with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. However, he did not specifically name Shinde.

'Conspiracy To Malign Shinde'
The controversy snowballed as Sena workers called it a "conspiracy" against the former Maharashtra CM and lodged a police complaint against Kamra, Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Sanjay Raut and Aditya Thackeray, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"We have filed an FIR against Kunal Kamra for his comments against our leader and Maharashtra's DCM Eknath Shinde. We have demanded quick action against him," said party MLA Murji Patel.
The workers staged protests in Mumbai, burning pictures of the comedian.
Party MP Naresh Mhaske branded Kamra a "hired" comedian alleging that he made the comment against Shinde for "some money". He also accused Sanjay Raut and Shiv Sena (UBT) saying he felt sorry for them as "they have no party workers or leaders left to make comments on our leader, which is why they are hiring people like him (Kunal Kamra) for the job."

'Won't Let Kamra Move Freely'
Sena workers have also threatened the comedian that if he does not apologise within two days, he won't be able to move freely either in Mumbai or in India.
"I want to tell him to apologise to Eknath Shinde within two days otherwise Shiv Sainiks will not let him move about freely in Mumbai. If he is seen anywhere in public, we will paint his face black," Patel said.
The issue will be taken up in the assembly, the legislator said further, adding that they will request the state home minister to order action against him as soon as possible.
Mhaske also made a similar threat saying, "We will make sure Kunal Kamra is not free to move around- neither in Maharashtra nor in the country. Kunal Kamra will get a befitting reply, and he will come and apologise for his mistake."
