Former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said that the Aam Aadmi Party was not opposed to the Congress. He said that the party was only against the BJP. "The loss in Haryana was not BJP's win; rather, it was the Congress's loss," he said at the ABP Live Impact Makers Conclave 2024.

When asked why the AAP and Congress failed to reach an agreement in Haryana, Sisodia said the Congress needs to introspect and learn to take others with it "because the voters want to remove the BJP from power". "Even in Chhattisgarh when the voters wanted to oust BJP, the Congress decided to hand them a win," he said.

Sisodia said he and his family are ready for him to go to jail "a hundred times" by working for the schools in Delhi. He said if BJP came to power in Delhi, school fees would increase. Sisodia said people had seen a "trailer" of what would be in store if the BJP won the elections. Asserting that he would not shy from fighting elections, Sisodia said: "I shall fight to work for the people. Let the people decide. If I am corrupt, they would not elect us. If not, I would take my place in the government."

'AAP Won't Fight Maharashtra, Jharkhand Elections'

Sisodia clarified the AAP's next focus is on the Delhi Assembly elections. "Our focus is on the Delhi elections. In Maharashtra and Jharkhand, we shall provide all support to our INDIA partners and even campaign for them. But we shall not fight the polls," he said. Manish Sisodia further said that the AAP is well poised to get 90% of the vote share and return to power in Delhi elections slated to be held in February.

'BJP Spreading Misconception On Liquor Policy'

Every year policies are changed in all states. Technically, a new policy is notified every year after the duration of the previous one ends. A misconception is being spread by the BJP, which says that if the policy was good, why was it scrapped? That is the standard in every state.

Even the BJP knows that Arvind Kejriwal has never even asked for a cup of tea to get a job done... Despite employing 500 officers, the BJP failed to prove charges worth even Re 1. That's why the court let me and Arvind Kejriwal out [on bail]... The BJP knew this case would last only till the bail," said Manish Sisodia, asserting that there was no case against him or Arvind Kejriwal.

He raked up the electoral bonds issue saying, "Their biggest witness, Sharat Chandra Reddy, is their funder who donated Rs 60 crore in the party kitty," he said.

Manish Sisodia during a poll campaign in Delhi on Monday had said that Arvind Kejriwal is completing all works after coming out of jail. He said that Chief Minister Atishi is getting all the work done in Delhi after consulting Kejriwal.

Sisodia attacked the BJP saying that the road repairs had been stalled by the BJP this year and Arvind Kejriwal is now getting those roads repaired. "They [BJP] had started shutting down mohalla clinics, but these clinics are opening again," he said.
