Two youngsters lost their lives after the motorcycle they were riding at a high speed rammed into a road divider on Parvathnagar 100 Feet Road in Madhapur of Hyderabad. The victims, Akansha (24) and her friend Raghu Babu, were traveling from Borabanda towards Madhapur when Akansha, who was riding the bike, lost control.
One victim died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.
Police suspect overspeeding as the cause of the accident. A case has been registered. An investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the death toll in December 23 hit-and-run accident in Hyderabad's Gachibowli area rose to two on Thursday after the injured youth passed away at the hospital. The incident occurred near the Nanakramguda Rotary on the ORR Service Road, when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle. In the impact, a 21-year-old Ireni Shivani, an engineering student, died on the spot. Her friend, 28-year-old Venkat Reddy, a software engineer, was severely injured and rushed to the hospital.
Venkat Reddy succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning, bringing the total number of fatalities in the crash to two.
