In a horrific incident, an 11-year-old boy was brutally murdered in what police have described as a human ‘sacrifice’, at his school hostel in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras as part of a black magic ritual to bring success and fame to the school. The minor, identified as Kritarth Kushwaha, was a student of Class 2 at DL Public School at Rasgawan under Sahpau police station.
Five people, including the director of the school and three teachers, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case, police said. Those arrested include Ramprakash Solanki, Dinesh Baghel alias Bhagat (school manager), Jashodhan Singh (father of the school manager), and three school teachers Ramprakash Solanki, Veerpal Singh, and Laxman Singh.
The boy's death came to light when the Hathras police found his body in the school director’s car in the Sadabad area, which is 35 km away from Agra, on September 23. During the probe, it was revealed that the incident took place at the hostel of the school and the killing was orchestrated as part of a tantric ritual, purportedly to bring success and fame to the school.
Police also found a rope, religious pictures, and a key from a room in a school premises.
Kritarth was a resident of Tursen village and had been missing for a few days before his body was recovered, leading to widespread panic and outrage in the area. His father, Krishna Kumar, had filed a complaint on September 23, on the basis of which police started the probe, which uncovered evidence which suggested that the killing was part of a sacrificial ritual.
The post-mortem examination also confirmed that the boy was strangled and the bones of his neck were broken.
CO Himanshu Mathur told news agency IANS that Jashodhan Singh, father of school manager Dinesh Baghel, is the mastermind behind the plan. As per media reports, the five had tried to kill another boy in the recent past, although the attempt was not successful.
