A brawl over the settlement of a bill at a theatre in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior escalated when the canteen owner allegedly bit the ear of a man leading to the registration of a case, said the police on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Sunday when the victim Shabbir, went to the canteen of Kailash Talkies in the Inderganj area where movie Pushpa 2 was being screened, according to a PTI report. Shabbir had gone to the canteen during the interval to buy food.
An argument broke out between Shabbir and the canteen owner, Raju who accused the former of not paying money, according to an official.
The heated exchange soon escalated into a fight with Raju and his three associates thrashing Shabbir and the former biting the ear of his customer, according to the FIR.
Additional Superintendent of Police Niranjan Sharma said the argument over the payment of food items caused a fight. "The canteen owner and his three associates allegedly beat Shabbir and also bit his ear while threatening to kill him," he said.
The victim lodged a complaint with police on Monday. Based on Shabbir's medical report, a case was registered against three persons on Tuesday, the SP said, adding further investigation into the case was underway.

Three individuals including one of the theatre's owners, its senior manager, and the lower balcony in charge were arrested by the police during the investigation.
On Wednesday, Arjun moved the Telangana High Court seeking to quash the FIR and requested a stay on all further proceedings, including arrest, pending the disposal of the petition. The High Court is expected to hear the matter in the coming days.
