Gujarat: Massive Fire Near Ambardi Safari Park Guts 185 Acres, No Casualty Reported

A fire near Gujarat's Ambardi Safari Park burned 185 acres of forest land. No casualty was reported, and the blaze was controlled after 4 hours.

A massive fire broke out near the Ambardi Safari Park and Ambardi village in Gujarat's Amreli on Friday. After four hours of fire extinguishing operations, the blaze was brought under control. According to ANI, no casualty was reported in the incident.

The fire was believed to have been caused by an electrical short-circuit.

While speaking to ANI, Fire Officer SC Gadh said that a fire broke out in the Dhari tehsil, in the Amreli district in the land between Ambardi Safari Park and Ambardi village, near the coastal area of the Shatrunjay River.

"Three teams were dispatched from the Fire and Emergency Service Control Room. One more vehicle was called from the Bagasara tehsil. After 4 hours of efforts, the fire was brought under control," he told the new agency. He further said that there is no report of any damage.

He said that it was a revenue extension of land, and there were damages to the forest trees. The vegetation in the area has been burned by the fire on nearly 185 acres of land.

Bhadohi Cotton Mill Fire

Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a cotton spinning mill in the Carpet City area of Bhadohi in the wee hours of Friday, resulting in estimated losses in crores. The fire at Gaurav Industries, owned by Anil Jaiswal and located near the Carpet Expo Mart, is suspected to have started because of an electrical short circuit shortly after midnight.

Although the mill's automatic fire extinguishing system was activated by the roughly half a dozen employees present, the fire quickly spread due to cotton sacks and strong winds across the expansive multi-acre facility.

According to PTI, District Fire Officer (DFO) Omprakash Mathur said that seven fire engines were pressed into service for about six hours, finally bringing it under control around 9:00 am.
