Two revenue officers were allegedly attacked by villagers in Ukhra in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday over a recent bulldozer demolition in the area.
After the alleged attack, a union of revenue officers, Lekhpal Sangh, staged a protest at Nawabganj Police Station, demanding an FIR against the attackers.
The incident unfolded after the district administration razed illegal structures on government land using bulldozers on Saturday. While the BJP leaders were talking to the villagers, along with Circle Officer Arun Kumar and SHO Balraj Bhati, some villagers resorted to violence and attacked the revenue officers.
However, the Police managed to disperse the mob and restored normalcy in the area.
Ajit Dwivedi, District President of Lekhpal Sangh, stated that the officers were severely beaten, and their records were taken. “They are injured. The Lekhpal Sangh will protest at the police station until a case is registered and the accused are arrested," he said, news agency PTI reported.

Land Acquired For Green Energy Corridor
According to the officials, Four bulldozers were utilised to raze the structures on the barren land that was used by villages for years on Saturday. Sadar Tehsildar, Shraddha Pandey, stated approx one-and-a-half hectares of land have been acquired with the consent of the village society for the green energy corridor.
"The government land was illegally occupied by some people. It is being freed from encroachments. All illegal constructions will be razed," she had said.
Sharing a 17-second video on X in bulldozers' action, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "This is the ugly face of BJP politics full of revenge. BJP gets happiness in demolishing settled houses. Those who have not settled their own houses, I don't know what revenge they take for by demolishing the houses of others. With every falling house, BJP also falls even lower."
He further stated, "For Amritkaal's information: Today, in village Ukhra of Amritpur assembly constituency of Farrukhabad Lok Sabha (constituency), by running bulldozers on the houses of 25 poor families settled for years, who knows how many old people, sick people were rendered homeless in the rains. This is the height of political cruelty."
