French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou's mobile phone was stolen from his pocket when he went to visit Delhi's famous Chandni Chowk market. Mathou had gone to the market along with his wife on October 20, PTI reported quoting officials. 


The embassy informed the police about the incident the next day, following which CCTV cameras were checked and a police team was formed. Four accused, all aged between 20 and 25 years, were arrested and the mobile phone was also recovered from them, a police officer said. The accused are residents of the trans-Yamuna area, the officer said, adding that further investigation is underway.


Delhi Police Bust Gang Stealing Remote Radio Units


Meanwhile, Delhi Police have busted a large network of people who were stealing Remote Radio Units from mobile towers and selling them abroad. More than 5,000 Remote Radio Units that have been stolen have been sold to countries like Hong Kong. The stolen Remote Radio Units are worth more than Rs 100 crores, Delhi Police said.


"As many as 52 people have been arrested in the matter. 700 Remote Radio units have also been seized. With this investigation, Delhi Police has solved close to 250 cases of RRU unit theft," the statement added.
